Wine Country Itinerary: April

April in Temecula Wine Country

Welcome to the April list of places to stay, things to do and wineries to visit in beautiful Temecula Valley Wine Country.

If you’re planning on taking advantage of the amazing spring weather in Southern California and visiting Temecula Wine Country this month, be sure you have a place to stay. Rusty Fork Ranch, a hosted Airbnb in the center of Wine Country, is the perfect place to start your trip. With themed rooms, spectacular views, and friendly goats, you’ll love your stay at this artsy mini ranch.

Begin your visit with an early morning balloon ride. A Grape Escape offers hot air balloon adventures over the vineyards of Wine Country. With private flights, group trips, and options for special occasions — you’re sure to enjoy the views from above.

Once you’re back on solid ground, treat yourself to breakfast or brunch at Le Coffee Shop. Located in Old Town Temecula, this quaint bakery features delicious French inspired cuisine and coffee.

Next up, head down the De Portola Wine Trail (don’t forget to download the app!) and enjoy the day sipping great local wines. We recommend starting at Masia de la Vinya Winery. Wines with a heavy Spanish influence pair well with the picturesque views and casual atmosphere.

The next stop is Maurice Carrie, a Victorian-style farmhouse winery right off Rancho California Road. On 91 acres, Maurice Carrie was first established in 1968 and hosts a local market in its parking lot every weekend. While enjoying their award-winning Sauvignon Blanc be sure to try their famous Baked Brie in Sourdough Bread.

Whether you follow this trusty guide or branch out and explore on your own, you are sure to have an amazing Temecula Wine Country experience!
